Associate Faculty (PT-Faculty): Business Management Project Management Pool

 

SALARY: Five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,208.03

 

LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington


DESCRIPTION:
 Faculty members are responsible for the following: teaching and providing leadership to a diverse student body in the classroom and online; developing curriculum; preparing teaching materials; developing and assessing student learning outcomes to evaluate student work; assigning grades, maintaining required records; advising and consulting with students to support their success.

The position is explicitly related to teaching MGMT 270 (Project Management I) and MGMT 271 (Project Management II).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Business or related discipline. A Bachelor's and experience in a related field may be considered.
  • Two years of full-time work experience in business or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of computer skills used in business and ability to apply technology to business curriculum.

 


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A certified PMI project management professional (PMP) with some familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or LEAN methodologies is preferred.
  • Proven ability to teach at the community college level or equivalent experience in adult education.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts clearly and engage students in discussions. ¿ Experience designing course projects, syllabi, and assessments aligned with the student learning outcomes.
  • Skills in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Practical experience in project management across various industries to provide real-world examples.
  • Familiarity with online teaching tools, LMS. Edmonds College uses the Canvas LMS. ¿ Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and industry partners to enhance the program.
  • Ability to illustrate recent industry trends and integrate these new practices into teaching.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team.

 


PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in a variety of settings including classrooms, skills labs and off campus sites. Standing or sitting for long periods of time may occur in any of the settings mentioned. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential.

 


COMPENSATION:

Compensation is made in accordance with the Negotiated Agreement between the Washington Community College District and Edmonds College Federation of Teachers. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,208.03 at Step A.

 


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
